Japanese beauty

These lovely 3-D rabbits in PMC are by Manami Yoshida of Japan. I love the sculptural qualities of them, especially the fur! And the fact they are cute doesn't hurt either!

Kim's fancy

Whilst browsing the internet I was caught by these lovely little art deco style metal clay and glass pieces by Kim. Even more impressive is that she makes the glass pieces too....see her website for even more of her lovely work.
Whats even more impressive is she uses glass that not only has she fused but has also cold worked them giving the lovely finishes and shapes that really show the colours...
She also runs a blog and an etsy store from her website so do have a look at her other beautiful glass work.

Sumptuous Sima...

I thought I'd showcase the lovely Sima's jewellery. This is a metal clay and pearl piece which won an honourable mention in a Japanese competition. I think it is absolutely stunning!
Sima also has some wonderful Afghan inspired jewellery, donates pieces to charity and has some really really big news coming on her work.
I am very proud to work along side her on occasion!!

An interesting lecture

Welcome to my blog....mostly metal clay and some inspiration and more along the way!!
Went to a great lecture on Edwardian jewellery at the V&A. Given by Susan Mumford of Antiques Roadshow we covered Arts and Crafts jewellery, Art Noveau (my favourite) and Edwardian Garland jewellery. Loads of inspiration and interesting history, did you know Emiline Pankhurst (of sufragette fame) sold jewellery?
Vevere (above) and Lalique (below) two of my favourite jewellers of the Art Noveau period...
